LACTATION SUPPORT {it's normal to need a little help}
"Motherhood is always an act of courage.”
-- Stacy Schiff
Breastfeeding is the healthiest and most natural way to nourish your baby while creating precious bonding time. The World Health Organization recommends exclusive breastfeeding for at least the first six months of life for optimal child development.
While breastfeeding is medically most recommended, it may not come easy (at first) and can be painful, stressful and exhausting. It is a new skill to learn, and it is normal that it takes some time to master (but you can)! Some mothers have challenges expressing and storing milk, cracked or bleeding nipples, breast engorgement, oversupply or low supply of breast milk, reflux and mastitis (blocked milk ducts).
My in-home visits provide the support needed anytime of day/night to better understand your body and the needs of your baby. Local resources, tailored to you, will be provided and a 1 week follow-up window will be offered (via phone, skype, facetime, or email) to ensure you feel confident in your continued breastfeeding.
